The Benefits of an Employee Travel Club

The research on the importance of employees taking their vacation days is overwhelming and conclusive.

Vacation time is a vital component of an employee's mental well-being and makes them a more valuable contributor to your company’s success. There is a strong argument to make the taking of vacation days mandatory, especially in light of the fact that 52% of Americans have unused vacation days totaling 705 million days annually.

Intuitively we know that employees should come back from vacation with a re-energized and reinvigorated enthusiasm, often with new ideas that come from the perspective a little distance offers. However, that is not always the case. There are many instances where a vacation is unwelcome, such as:

  • Not being able to afford a vacation
  • A 4+ person family crammed into a single hotel room is not relaxing
  • A feeling that their position in the company will suffer if they go away on vacation
  • Their work will pile up and be waiting for them when they get back

These are real concerns that have the potential to negatively affect your employees mental state and/or contribute to them looking for a less stressful position elsewhere.

Consider this

Most companies will invest large amounts of money in training programs that make their employees a more valuable, and hopefully, loyal resource. Things like; time away from the office to attend courses, reimbursement for the cost of training upon successful completion, team building events, etc. While this addresses the improvement of skill sets, it does little to improve an employee's state of mind. Exhaustion and burnout are common conditions in corporate America, leading to absenteeism, presenteeism, medical leave, lethargy, and diminishing returns on a company’s investment in their people.

So, what can be done to help offset these issues? Invest a small amount into helping them do the things that they all want to do ... vacation like the rich and famous for the same budget that they have already set aside for their vacation.

Create an "Employee Vacation Club" for your company with Paradise Travel Incentives

Our program enables your company to create an employee vacation club as a way to invest into the mental and physical well-being of your people, while driving incredible loyalty, as well as increasing the company's ability to attract top talent.

The way it works is this:

  • Your company purchases a block of points which can be redeemed at any one of 3,500 of the nicest resorts around the world for week-long vacations.
  • The accommodations at these resorts are all Studio, 1, 2, or 3 bedroom condos with kitchens.
  • This means your employees have room to relax and have privacy when traveling with their kids. When the lights go out for the kids, the lights can stay on for the adults! That is not possible when crammed into a hotel room.
  • Once you have decided how you want to make your points available to your team (there are a few options), they would book the resort they wish to stay at through our Customer Care Center and pay a small per-point redemption fee which is based on how large the accommodation is (Studio, 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms).
  • Using the Paradise Travel Incentives program, the overall cost is typically between 30-80% cheaper than retail, and with that cost further split between the employee and the company (should you wish to structure the program that way), the price your people will pay to stay in some of the best places in the world is less than they would pay to be all crammed into a single hotel room with 2 beds in it.
  • Keep in mind that the company’s portion of the cost is a write-off, and so low that a company of any size can leverage it!

With an Employee Vacation Club in place, you create an environment where you are showing that you truly care for, and are directly invested in the quality of life and mental well-being of your people.

Now, that may seem an altruistic motive, but that’s not purely the case. This is a win-win proposition, as there are multiple benefits to your company. They will come in the form of well-rested, loyal, motivated employees (with happy partners and kids incidentally), who will also brag about how well your company treats them to their friends and peers. In turn, this gets the word out and helps to attract top talent to your company.

Of course, if all else fails, you could also simply use this yourself!
